AIHO Selected as Site Coordinator for University of Washington Online Course

Collaborations & Partnerships

As part of its capacity-building efforts, AIHO served as site coordinator for four (4) University of Washington online courses in 2019: Project Management in Global Health, Introduction to Epidemiology for Global Health, Economic Evaluation in Global Health, and Fundamentals of Implementation Science.

For a small fee, enrollees can participate in the course and receive a certificate from the University of Washington upon meeting all course requirements. Besides supporting the operations of the online course, the fee is also used to sponsor a few students per course.

In total, 115 participants participated in the four courses. AIHO facilitated over 20 site meetings for discussion of module materials.

SITE MEETINGS

Site meetings are held for further discussion of modules. Each session is facilitated by a subject-matter expert from AIHP’s pool of consultants.

This course is something I should have taken in college to prepare me in the work that I am currently doing. Although I appreciate the fact that it was not purely concepts, and while the concepts are new, I was able to relate it in my previous, current, and future engagements.

Emanuel Y. Gloria

All topics were relevant. The integration of the different principles and concepts taught can be applied in all aspects of my work.

Philline Salvador

It has given me a lot of methodologies for evidence-based decisions in programs. It also gave me ideas on what topics are relevant for research and how to disseminate these appropriately.
